Explanation of qualifications

Level 1 compensation advocates (MILADC001) are qualified to assist a client in the preparation of primary claims for compensation under the supervision of a level 2 (or above) compensation advocate.

Level 2 compensations advocates (MILADC002) are qualified to assist a client in the preparation of primary claims for compensation without supervision. Level 2 advocates also interpret decisions and consult with higher qualified advocates where there may be grounds to appeal the decision.

Level 3 compensation advocates (MILADC003) are qualified to initiate primary appeals to the Veterans' Review Board (for VEA and MRCA) and for re-consideration to DVA (DRCA).

Level 4 compensation advocates (MILADC004) are qualified to initiate secondary appeals to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) under all acts.

Level 1 Welfare advocates (MILADW001) are qualified to assist a client in obtaining access to services to which they may be eligible, and which will assist in the client's daily lives, under the supervision of a level 2 advocate.

Level 2 Welfare advocates (MILADW002) are qualified to assist a client in obtaining access to services to which they may be eligible, and which will assist in their daily lives.
