Directory of Advocacy Services

Find an ex-service organisation offering accredited military advocacy services

Military advocates provide assistance and advice to current and former members of the Australian Defence Force and their families.

Compensation advocates provide guidance and assistance with submitting claims to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) for pensions, compensation and rehabilitation.

Welfare advocates help you to access the entitlements, benefits and support available from DVA, other government agencies and community-based service providers.

The Advocacy Training and Development Program (ATDP) provides accreditation to Military Advocates who have met national competency standards approved by the Australian Skills Quality Authority.

This is your assurance that ATDP-Accredited Military Advocates have the knowledge and skills to provide you with advice and assistance that meets the specific needs of you and your family, no matter where you live or when you served.

To find an advocate in your area, use the search tool at the top of this page. This will give you contact details for an ex-service organisation that has accredited military advocates in your area. When you contact them, ask for an 'ATDP-Accredited Military Advocate'.

See the full list of ex-service organisations offering accredited military advocacy services here.

Please note: The information in this directory has been provided by the ex-service organisations and is regularly updated. If you have any questions or corrections, contact the ATDP
